Dala brings Swedish warmth from day to night. The identity draws from the floral motifs of Sweden’s Midsommar tradition. The colour palette draws from Kaffe Bageri, but the dominant warm yellow reflects the glowing light of Dala’s evening atmosphere. Flowers appear as linear illustrations and background patterns made of petals. All floral motifs are inspired by the restaurant bar, made with real flower set in resin and the hanging floral decorations on the ceiling.

Dala was conceived as the younger, more mature sister concept to Kaffe Bageri. To preserve brand equity and ensure immediate recognisability, we based the logotype on the bespoke typeface originally developed for Kaffe Bageri. This creates a strong visual through-line across both brands and establishes a deliberate dialogue between day and evening experiences within the same brand universe.

From a naming perspective, the client wanted a connection to Kaffe Bageri, while introducing a more refined and evening-appropriate tone. Our solution was to reference the figurine featured in the Kaffe Bageri logo and elevate it into the primary name. This decision operates on multiple strategic levels: it reinforces narrative continuity, deepens brand storytelling, and creates a subtle but meaningful symbolic bridge between the two concepts.

Together, the shared typographic DNA and the narrative naming system position Dala not as a separate brand, but as an intentional evolution of the Kaffe Bageri world — extending the brand from daytime bakery culture into a more atmospheric, evening-driven experience.
